Another way to enhance search results is to use subject specific search engines. Scirus http://www.scirus.com offers an excellent example of this kind of search tool. Scirus is for scientific informa tion only. They describe themselves as "the most comprehensive science-specific search engine on the Internet." Scirus searches over 250 million science-specific Web pages. This site is designed with the scientist and the researcher in mind. Science.gov http://www.science.gov permits a unified search of information provided by 16 U.S. government science organi zations. Medhunt from Health on the Net http://www.hon.ch/MedHunt/ offers medical information. News Now http://www.newsnow.co.uk/ makes almost 25,000 news sources searchable from its home page. There are also a wide variety of directories available to point you toward the information you seek. These directories provide lists of web site by subject.
